Data Platform Technical Product Manager

Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders, which include Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Service Owners and Developers.

As a Data Platform Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Working with cross-functional teams to deliver features and major, complex products
  • Owning the short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases
  • Prioritizing continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs
  • Demonstrating expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity
  • Engaging frequently (80%) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions
  • Owning and managing the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready
  • Routinely collaborate with UX, Architecture and engineering teams on multiple issues and decisions
  • Conducting customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborate on personas
  • Partnering with the Service Owner to ensure healthy development process
  • Being regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology; translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning
  • Demonstrating excellent persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager and engineering team
  • Demonstrating excellent product and industry knowledge and to help the organization gain a competitive edge
  • Mentor junior team members; provide technical leadership to TPMs across the organization

To be successful in this role you will:

 

 

 

 

  • Have a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Have excellent SaaS product knowledge
  • Have extensive knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java coding principles
  • Have experience working in an Agile environment
  • Have the ability to demonstrate knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security
  • Be skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team.
  • Have the ability to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications.
  • Have well developed problem-solving skills
  • Have the ability to influence others
