Saudi Aramco is seeking Senior Research Scientist for their Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC). We are looking for professionals to conduct upstream research in the Multi-phase Metering Focus Area in the Production Technology Team. The position offers the opportunity to contribute in leading edge technology development to increase recovery, improve operational efficiency and reduce cost.
This technical position is for a R&D professional with well-established background in distributed sensing on optical fibers with strong knowledge of multiphase flow. Hands on experience of developing artificial intelligence and machine learning based solutions is desired. The position requires designing innovative solutions and applications, managing product development collaborations, and deploying the new technologies in Saudi Aramco.
You will be required to perform the following:
Engage in multi-disciplinary teams to identify challenges and provide solutions to fill the technology gaps. Initiate technology development proposals
Initiate technology development proposal.
Draft preliminary distributed measurement designs and model their performance in a given wellbore configuration.
Perform business case analysis for the need to develop new products.
Analyze field production data and evaluate well performance.
Install and field trial test new technologies in the field and implement full-scale deployment of high-impact technologies.
Recommend distributed optical sensing techniques for injection, observation and production wells.
Write and publish technical papers and patent applications.
Prepare and present technical talks to highly technical audience.
Participate in technical societies and groups.
As a successful candidate, you
Should have a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. PhD degree is a plus
Have a minimum of 10 years related experience with demonstrated skills in oil production engineering
Have a working knowledge of optical time and continuous domain reflectometry measurement and data visualization technologies
Demonstrate hand-on skills in d AI/ML based solutions design and development
Have a strong knowledge of multiphase flow measurement challenges and techniques
Demonstrate skills in complex system integration using systems engineering methods
Have a Proven history of using distributed temperature, acoustic, pressure and strain sensing
Able to interact and communicate clearly with engineers from other disciplines and operational staff
have a history of technical publications and invention disclosures
