Saudi Aramco is seeking for a researcher/senior engineer to join their EXPEC ARC with 10+ work experience in the relevant industries. The prospective candidate will be responsible for working with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists/engineers to conduct research in advanced sensors, robotics, and IoT devices and involve in the development of new innovations through design, simulation, fabrication, and validation that serves the upstream applications. The candidate must also be familiar with engineering know-how and operations of various types of sensors including optical, MEMS, and microwave that are applicable in upstream applications in the oil and gas industry. The candidate must be familiar or has prior experience in the upstream challenges in the oil and gas industry. Additionally, the candidate is expected to transfer knowledge to young professionals through training, coaching and mentoring.
The successful candidates will be responsible for R&D tasks, such as introducing compelling technologies by identifying company needs, setting tool requirements, designing innovative solutions, managing product development collaborations, field testing new products, technology upscaling and deployment in oilfields, and technology commercialization.

You will be required to perform the following:
Engage in multi-disciplinary teams to prioritize business needs and identify technology gaps
Advancing technical initiatives of sensing system and robotics research and innovative product development for challenging applications
Preparing the laboratory equipment and systems, including standard operation procedure, transfer knowledge by conducting facility training, and mentoring of young professionals
Perform business case analysis for the need to develop new products. Engage in business partnerships and collaborations
Deploy technologies in oilfields and upscale prototypes
Write and publish technical papers and patent disclosures
Prepare and present technical talks to a highly technical audience
As a successful candidate, you must
Hold a Ph.D. degree in related disciplines to Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Have A minimum of 10+ years of related experience with demonstrated skills in advanced sensing design, prototyping, deployment, R&D, and embedded systems
Have experience in advanced sensing and robotics in oil and gas industry in general, and in upstream in particular.
Have an intensive knowledge of the following, but not limited to: Design and fabrication of small footprint sensors such as MEMS. Solid-state physics.
Optics, including fiber optics and optoelectronics. LiDar. System on Chip. Nanofabrication skills (cleanroom-trained facilities). Thermal imaging technologies. Gas sensing technologies. Basic software skills including C++, Python, LABVIEW, MATLAB, CAM/CAD, and PCP design.
Have a rich record in technical publications and patents.
