Overview

The Geology Technology Division conducts research and technology development to support exploration, development, and characterization of hydrocarbon reservoirs in both conventional and unconventional systems. The division is seeking a senior research geologist to serves as a subject matter expert (SME) initiating, leading, and conducting research and development activities in their area of domain expertise. This includes working independently and within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

You should be able to perform the following:

Develop new technologies and workflows to improve reservoir characterization, reduce exploration risk, and improve sustainability aspects

Initiate, lead, and conduct research projects in the area of domain expertise

Collaborate with internal and external entities to provide solutions to business challenges

Write internal reports to document and communicate research findings

Prepare internal presentations to technical professionals and management as needed

Publish approved research papers in journals including peer-reviewed journals

Participate and present research in international and local conferences

Develop and protect company's intellectual property by participating in generating patents

Train and mentor young geoscientists and lab technicians

Act as a technical advisor to management as needed

Developing and overseeing laboratories relevant to field of expertise - if applicable.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you

Should have B.S. Degree in Geology, or a related field. Advanced degree e.g. MSc or PhD in geology or related field is highly preferred

Have 15+ years of industry experience related to characterization, development, and exploration of hydrocarbon reservoirs

Are familiar with industry-standard software (e.g., Seismic interpretation software: Petrel/Decision Space, Log interpretation software: Techlog/Geolog or similar)

Have an expert level knowledge in one or more geology sub-discipline such as structural geology, geomechanics, geochemistry, sedimentology, stratigraphy, petrography, paleontology, and geostatistics

Have an experience in developing new technologies or workflows to address business challenges

Are able to track record of publications including in reputable peer-reviewed journals

Have an experience in patenting (preferred)
