Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for a Site Electrical Engineer to join the client's front line team in a major LNG site based in Darwin, NT. This is an initial 12-month contract and anticipated to be an ongoing requirement, to provide front line support for the client.

Wood "Operations" delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Oil & Gas and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

You will be reporting directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer and working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, across some of world's most technically challenging brownfields Oil & Gas projects for Wood's Electrical Engineering group.

You will be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and are able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.

Skills / Qualifications

Suitably qualified in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will be Darwin based and have proven experience in a site-based operations role in an Offshore and Onshore LNG site OR Australian heavy industry engineering sector. Commissioning and mining experience is also well regarded. Interstate candidates will also be considered.

In addition, you will have:
  • Demonstrated operations experience as a Site Engineer
  • General engineering design experience and understanding in either some / all of the following:
    • power generation
    • power distribution (MV & LV)
    • equipment specification (i.e. Power Transformers, MV & LV motors and drives, MV & LV switchgear, cabling, lighting, earthing)
  • General design knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian)
  • Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be prepared to undertake site visits either onshore / offshore
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • A" solutions mindset" and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
