Project HSE Advisor - Oslo


Contract role: Long Term

Location: Oslo

Duration: 12 month renewable



For an EPCI / Installation contractor client of Leap29 in Oslo we seek to make the addition of a long term contractor, in the function of Project HSE Advisor.

The client are a rapidly growing, ambitious EPCI with a global name within Oil&Gas and Renewable installation projects, and somewhere that would be considered highly desirable to secure a role.


The key function is to support the Mission Equipment Project Team, in the shape of experienced and dedicated HSE support. In this onshore role, you will be reporting to the Project Mission Equipment Manager whilst working closely with subcontractors, HSEQ peers and the full project team.

Your focus lies with planning, managing, monitoring, and coordinating all Health, Safety and Environmental aspects in relation to the full mission equipment life cycle.


Key responsibilities:

  • Actively promote the use of working methods and provide training and guidance to the project team.
  • Ensuring conformity to relevant legislation and standards; a high focus on ISO, Safety of machinery, general principles of design- risk assessment and risk reduction, and the EU Directives
  • Support the project team in management and control of HSE risks and ensuring effective controls are put in place.

Capability profile / Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor level of Occupational Health and Safety education (NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 or equivalent).
  • Preferably education/training/ experience in process safety and/or engineering.
  • At least 3 years' experience in offshore/civil construction (renewable wind sector would be ideal).
  • Experience with ensuring safe design of equipment in compliance with applicable standards and legislative requirements.
  • Able to translate legal/standard requirements in an understandable manner.
  • Experience with risk management and control (Safety in Design, performing safe design workshops/HAZOP/FMEACA sessions, application of Hierarchy of Controls, ensuring ALARP).
