Primary Purpose of Job
• Undertakes Non-destructive testing on pressure containing plant equipment, pipeline and welded construction using special equipment and techniques to ensure structural integrity and plant safety. Carries out Ultrasonic examinations within the field's area. Supervises Industrial Radiography carried out by Contractors using Ir-192 radioactive source. Reviews radiographs, interprets them and submits concise reports. Prepares inspection reports outlining specific recommendations and liaises with planning engineers and field supervisors regarding their implementations. Assists Welding/Plant Inspector in other day-today activities. Acts as a relief, during periods of Senior Inspector (NDT & Welding) absence.
Academic: BSc or equivalent Technical: Formal training in all NDT methods leading to ASNT/CSWIP/PCN Level 2 Certification, CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or equivalent at the discretion of AII(M).
Experience & Skills
• A minimum 8 years experience in NDT of pressure containing plant preferably in the refinery, chemical or oil & gas processing plants
• Thorough knowledge of International Codes and Standards related to fabrication and inspection of pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers, storage tanks, etc
• Good knowledge of welding techniques, procedures and welding examination
