Industrial Climate Solutions Inc is commercializing, products based on a unique pulsing, or regenerative, froth contactor. Positioned to transform the "wet front-end" of CO2 capture processes, and supporting a wide range of potential industrial applications, this downward coflow equipment uses transformational principles that are new to industrial process engineering

ICS is looking to hire a Mechatronics Technician with programming skills to work on the existing and future custom-designed machines for automated manufacturing processes and production lines involving forming woven steel mesh. The project includes PLC/HMI, servomotor and drive, design, analysis, and assembly of mechanical/electrical components. The selected candidate will analyse, debug, refine, develop, and maintain existing and future machines/processes. The preferred individual needs to have machine shop skills and be familiar with manufacturing process. The project also requires analysing the impact of mechanical stresses and material properties on the performance of the production line and product quality. This role will also include operating and maintaining the equipment. Experience with sheet metal works would be an asset.

As a Mechatronic Technician, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Designing and developing new controls systems, and maintain/modify existing systems • Work as the operator with the existing and future developed machines
  • Drawing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical • Document the system development process and prepare user operating manual
  • Developing and installing machine programs using various automation software
  • Configuring servo motors and encoders with servo drives and PLC
  • Designing and analysis of custom mechanical components
  • Handling, assembly, installation of mechanical and electrical components • Work with machine shop personnel for fabricating mechanical components
  • Developing quality assurance procedure for the production line components and products
  • Working with outside parties on enhanced automation and next-generation production equipment

 


Required Qualifications

 

 

  • Post-secondary diploma, preferably in Mechatronics
  • 1-3 years of experience in industrial equipment design and programming
  • Evaluate performance, production quality, diagnose and address process issues
  • Proficient in the use of software applications, e.g., Microsoft Office Suite
  • Extensive logic and deductive skills with attention to details
  • Experience with computer programming, LabVIEW, TIA Portal, is an asset
  • Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Eligible to travel in North America and the E.U. without sponsorship
  • Must be able to frequently lift and push, or pull weights up to 50 lbs (weight limits can vary according to position)
