Overview / Responsibilities

Commissioning & Validation Manager - Pharmaceutical, North East (Site Based)

Wood Process & Energy are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Commissioning & Validation Managers with a demonstrable background in Pharmaceutical GMP facilities and equipment for a potential upcoming project.

The opportunity will be based at our client site facility in the North East for a minimum of 2-3 years. The appointed will provide i nput to construction planning to ensure design and build are aligned with efficient commissioning and handover of facilities and systems.

Maintaining the Commissioning project schedule / cost deliverables you will also:
  • Assist in ensuring all project/company HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded
  • Experience working with Qualification & Validation teams for GMP equipment and facilities
  • Ensure all commissioning personnel are aware of and implement safe working practices/procedures
  • Effective liaison with any third party client or verification body personnel
  • Ensure effective pre and commissioning document management system and process are in place and managed effectively
  • Maintain and deliver all Commissioning
  • Ensure creation and execution of commissioning and validation protocols adhere to GDP requirements
  • Manage commissioning and validation activities ensuring compliance with procedures
  • Implement a continuous improvement philosophy across the commissioning function, delivering best practices at all times
  • Direct the pre and commission personnel at all times to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the scope
  • Ensure all necessary sub-contracts, vendor contracts and other support are in place
  • Third party verification body liaison
  • Communicate and co-operate with external stakeholders including industry bodies, academia, market intelligence, relevant conferences, vendors, business acquisition and business development

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Process Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience in pharma facilities
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external customers and third party vendors
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of projects through mechanical completion and implement safe start up practice
  • Knowledge and application of regulatory requirements for CSV, clean utilities
  • Experience in working in regulated environment and application of GDP and ALCOA
  • Proactive nature to help drive projects forward taking accountability and communicating with client teams to drive delivery
  • Demonstrable skills and experience commissioning GMP Facilities and Equipment
  • Experience of delivering equipment through full project life cycle; URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ and handover to production
  • Proven track record of commissioning facilities safely, with minimal process deviations and on-time
  • Excellent interpersonal organisational, communication and team building skills
  • Ability to be assertive and drive culture change when required, monitor work progress and report against the plan
  • Proven experience of manging commissioning activities in a GMP facility
  • Fully conversant with regards to discipline technical knowledge
