Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a H&S Specialist to cover the role of RSPP for the Italian Branch of Wood Environment & Infrastructure and provide support in the preparation and management of H&S aspects of the projects that are executed in the field. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position requires an experienced professional who will provide HSE guidance and leadership as well deliver HSE excellence across the contract portfolio.
Responsibilities: - Responsible for all duties deriving from the RSPP role as foreseen by D. Lgs. 81/08, including management and updates of DVR, DUVRI, Risk Assessments, H&S training of employees, Supply and Management of DPIs and management of medical surveillance of company employees
- Responsible for the preparation and review of Operational H&S Plans (POS) for Environmental Investigations and small construction projects, including updates / development of Risk Assessment and AHAs for the different activities
- Responsible for the management of Corporate H&S system and compliance with all requirements; and actively works with functional managers to ensure the business unit achieves its HSE performance targets and projects are updated with best HSE practices
- Assist Project Managers in delivering EPC work by verifying control of work, permit to work, and compliance with HSE requirements
- Monitors the recording, reporting, and analysis of HSE performance metrics including both leading and lagging indicators for the contract
- Demonstrates a proven approach to risk management and assurance activities
- Establishes relationships with HSE contractors and suppliers on the basis of minimum risk and provides assurance of mitigation of those risks
Skills / Qualifications - Degree in Engineering or other qualifying Technical Discipline
- Minimum 15 years of experience working in the area of Health and Safety Consultancy with at least 5 in the RSPP role for an Engineering / Consultancy company with a size of minimum 50 staff
- All the required H&S qualifications per Italian law for the position of RSPP and for the role of H&S Coordinator for the Design / Construction phase
- OSHA Construction / HAZWOPER Training is considered a plus
- Italian Mother Tongue
- Excellent knowledge of the English Language
- Flexibility and availability to travel for short term site visits
- Excellent Teamwork attitude
- Personal initiative and problem solving attitude
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- A proven track record in implementation of HSE Management Systems and policies across contracts / assignments
- A demonstrated track record in leading and coaching health and safety behavior in an EPC / contracting environment
- Proven approach to risk management and assurance activities
- Establishes relationships with HSE contractors and suppliers on the basis of minimum risk and provides assurance of mitigation of those risks
