Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Houston, TX. Hybrid (Option to work remotely 2 out of 5 days per week)


The Manufacturing Engineer performs the lead role in the implementation of manufacturing processes and techniques and the implementation of LEAN and use of Six Sigma tools. He/she is the owner of their respective manufacturing processes and standards and enforces implementation by training shop floor personnel, implementing and monitoring metrics, and oversight. He/she is responsible to solve complex manufacturing problems and take an active role in troubleshooting quality and production yield related issues within manufacturing.

  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Responsible for the design and continuous improvement of processes using Lean concepts, such as: standardized work instructions, line balancing, layout and work sequence (routing) optimization, training development matrix, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen/5S workouts, pull processes, TPM (total preventive maintenance), cell design, and quick changeover/batch-size optimization.
  • Drive process optimization using Six Sigma tools such as Design of Experiments.

  • Leads the production team in designing and continuously improving manufacturing process to improve yield, cycle time and productivity.
  • Implement engineering specifications into processes and provides shop feedback to capture lessons learnt for existing and future designs.
  • Creates, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics on manufacturing process capability and product quality.
  • Implement process improvements to achieve manufacturing excellence in areas such as process yield (e.g. First Pass Yield, Rolled Throughput Yield), cycle time reduction and productivity.
  • Creates, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics on manufacturing process capability and product quality.

  • Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues to Engineering and DFMs (e.g. through the use of Engineering Change Requests - ECRs).
  • Review and sign-off on Engineering Change Orders that impact Inventory - including product life cycle issues, obsolescence, etc.
  • Monitoring and reducing process costs.
  • Quality.
  • Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.

Qualifications and Experiences:
  • BS/ MS in Industrial Engineering or Electrical, Mechanical with knowledge of LEAN
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Manufacturing
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing resource planning, demand planning and forecasting.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in Oil & Gas manufacturing industry or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred
  • MRP experience is preferred
  • Candidates should be able to work and reside in the US without sponsorship
