Marine Technical Engineer
Petroplan are assisting a client of ours with their search for a Project Marine Technical Engineer with Offshore Vessel experience spanning across SURF, diving, pipelay and heavy construction.
As such we are recruiting for a Marine Technical Engineer that will be responsible for ensuring the Fleet & Equipment Function has full budget & technical responsibility for the day to day running of our client's fleet of owned and 3rd party Vessels incorporating the fixed equipment onboard and the mobile equipment stored onshore catalogued for project use.
This is a key role within our client's group and provides the opportunity to be part of the wider energy transition phase by being involved in multiple initiatives and technical projects to make a significant impact on fleet performance and a reduction in vessel emissions as well as being able to work and collaborate across multiple areas of our clients business including Fleet and Equipment, Asset & Development, Digitalisation, Energy transition and the Sustainability groups.
The role will be based in the UK, as such candidates are required to have right to work in the UK.
The role will be reporting to the Marine Systems Technical Authority and there may be the requirement of international travel.

Core Competencies/Requirements:

 

  • Demonstrable, relevant marine/offshore experience in the capacity of Chief Engineer, 1st or 2nd Engineer.
  • Degree in an engineering discipline or HND/HNC or STCW Marine Engineer (class 1).
  • A minimum of five years planned maintenance (TM Master ideally) experience in Maritime Industry.
  • A very good understanding of power plant and propulsion systems specific to offshore vessels.
  • Experience in Vessel Dry Docks and repair periods.
  • Worked previously or presently working within an offshore vessel operator's technical department.
