Schlumberger is looking for a highly motivated university student who is still studying, to join us a Human Resources (HR) Visa and Immigration Compliance Intern.

This position will be based in Jandakot, WA with our Visa Compliance HR team on a contract role.

Job Summary

The Visa and Immigration Compliance (VIC) Administrator assists the company and employees with obtaining the appropriate visas, permits and documents to travel to or work in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates & processes the documentation required for intra-company transfers, short term intermittent project work, business meetings, training, and other immigration matters across the three jurisdictions above
  • Maintains all immigration/visa records for Schlumberger and as required by the current immigration legislation
  • Maintains and updates visa files of Schlumberger employees to ensure continued validity and to monitor ongoing compliance with immigration legislation
  • Maintains communication with employees, managers and external customers while providing prompt assistance and follow-through
  • Coordinates and prepares letters of invitation, employment verification and appointment letters related to immigration legislation
  • Complies with all applicable Schlumberger standards and policies
  • Assists with the coaching and development of new team members
  • Identifies and participates in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Privacy & Protection Guidelines and relevant legislation

Requirements:
  • Residing in Perth, WA
  • Have the full right to live and work in Australia
  • Able to start immediately
  • Must be currently studying a HR or related discipline at university level and should have completed a min of 1 year of the degree
  • Some exposure to HR and/or compliance practices would be desirable but not essential. Evidence of other workplace experience is required
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft 365, etc
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when needed and able to prioritise and multitask
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
