The Product Lifecycle Engineer is responsible for the identification, formulation and execution of continual improvement, optimization, feature set development and quality projects for the continual operation of the globally deployed fleet of SUEZ monitoring and control equipment including chemical sensors, actuators, pumps, analyzers, controllers and connectivity hardware. This Engineer will work with internal (IT, OT, Security, Project/Program/Commercial leadership) and external resources (manufacturers, platform vendors, technical integrators) to implement and communicate project solutions. The Product Lifecycle Engineer is expected to utilize data science techniques to evaluate a broad range of information sources including SUEZ's online asset performance management system, InSight*. Projects may include a range of technical domains including sustaining engineering, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, wireless, chemical, IT, OT and software development components.

In addition, you will:
  • Act as Tier 1 product support; log and actively debug issues, create and manage technical documents such as release notices, application notes.
  • Ensure continual operation of deployed systems through sustaining techniques, identification of qualified replacements, qualification of similar or next generation products.
  • Work to integrate/certify/qualify/validate existing systems as well as next generation platforms and IoT based adapters.
  • Utilize software skills to develop and complete necessary deployment, diagnostic, optimization scripts/drivers for the operation of the deployed fleet. This includes python, java and IEC based PLC programming languages.
  • Configure and interface controllers/HMIs through various industrial and internet protocols: ModBus, OPCUA, MQTT, JSON, etc...
  • Proactively work with Commercial, Product Management and Quality teams to identify and prioritize specific product enhancement and quality projects
  • Engage Product Safety, Compliance, EH&S, IT/Cyber Security and Legal teams to ensure all requirements are fulfilled
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, seeking input from all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Lead technical development and risk management activities including schedule and cost tracking
  • Coordinate internal and third parties/vendors resources for the efficient execution of projects
  • Create/approve production documents and monitor device manufacturing
  • Manage all stakeholder relationships through continuous communication of status and escalate to management as needed
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Core Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or a related science discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience with the operation and maintenance of sensors, analyzers, controllers, connectivity or chemical feed equipment
  • Working experience with software development and industrial protocol implementation/configuration
  • Working knowledge of IoT architectures including AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Established knowledge of contemporary IOT scripting languages (Python, Java, etc.), traditional PLC programming languages (Machine Edition, etc.), industrial protocols: ModBus, OPCUA, MQTT, JSON.

Other Useful Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven work experience in project management for projects involving complex, multidisciplinary efforts
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Mechanical/Electrical drawing standards, CAD, Excel scripting
  • Experience in industrial water (cooling, boiler, waste), refining and/or upstream hydrocarbon processing market segments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with remote communication technologies including wireless, cellular, satellite systems
  • Knowledge of component integrator production and test processes including functional testing, ISO and certification production testing requirements
  • Proven experience with experience with data management and analysis skills including, but not limited to machine learning techniques
  • Strong client-facing and internal communication skills, both written and verbal
