We are seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Consultant to work with the Applications Technology Division of the Exploration Applications Services Department.

The Applications Technology Division is responsible for providing reliable, efficient, and cost-effective geoscience computing solutions and services to the Exploration user community in order to meet Saudi Aramco's Oil and Gas Exploration goals.

The GIS Consultant primary role is to develop, implement, and maintain systems and services to access and use geospatial data while to support existing GIS systems and infrastructure. In addition, GIS Consultant is expected to work with Geoscientists to review and optimize GIS workflows and establish best practices guides for managing GIS business processes.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Deploy and maintain ArcGIS desktop software and remote sensing application (ERDAS Imagine and ENVI).

Support the ArcGIS Enterprise environment by administering ArcGIS servers, portal and data store, enhancing service monitoring and availability, and performing map services publishing and maintenance.

Enhance geospatial data management by optimizing the geospatial database (ArcSDE) performance and handling Exploration GIS data, CRS and datum conversion, and GIS data formatting and storage.

Develop systems and tools to streamline GIS-based business processes and workflows including GIS web applications development utilizing ESRI APIs and the latest web development technologies in addition to the development of (Python/ArcObjects) tools and advanced geo-processing models.

Play a major role in modernizing the GIS environment and meeting the increasing complexity and sophistication in geospatial requirements involving geo-processing, geo-analytics and IR4 (VR, AR, and deep learning) in several fronts.

Design and deliver GIS tailored trainings, focused on Upstream workflows related to oil and gas exploration business.

Participate in addressing system and infrastructure support requirements of the growing user base in Exploration and upstream organization.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you

Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Earth Sciences, Geographic Information System, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics.

Have a minimum of nine years' experience in computer systems development with at least five years directly related to the Geographic Information System (GIS) field.
