Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The role will serve as a functional link between sales, operations, Research & Development (R&D), sustaining engineering, and product line management with regards to new technologies and existing products and services. Performs engineering and operational services in support of all aspects of the sale and deployment of the product line.

Duties & Responsibilities

OPERATIONS
  • Design and develop well completion equipment and procedures
  • Provide global technical support via WISE™
  • Develop well procedures for each well segment, as well as contingency procedures, including but not limited to Cased Hole Completions, Liner Hangers, Gravel Pack, Frac Pack, AWS Completions, Packer Systems, Safety Systems, Flow Control
  • Manage engineering tasks using established procedures, these include but are not limited to, tubing movements, stress analysis, material selection, cost estimation and tolerance studies
  • Provide technical assistance with support from the appropriate product support center and from the R&D center. Technical assistance will include but not limited to performance calculations (burst, collapse, tensile, torque, hanging capacity, surge calculations, etc.)
  • Perform analysis on problem jobs, coordinating with all parties involved (i.e. customer, operations, manufacturing, engineering and quality
  • Conduct global product training & learning sessions
  • Develop sales aids in the form of presentation material, digital documentation, and procedure manuals required for specific projects
  • Provide technical support on customer requirements to sales & field operations
  • Assist and prepare engineering computations & estimates
  • Travel to provide engineering support as required by customers
  • Perform engineering layouts for fit, form and function checking
  • Coordinate with Engineering on conceptual designs.
  • Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level

COMMUNICATION
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
  • Define and direct specific product strategy by gathering input and business needs from customers and then creating a product-based solution to generate revenue and/or create value
  • Resolves conflicts between competing stakeholders by prioritizing requirements and products for development and commercialization; tracks project issues to completion, such as outstanding questions, decisions or changes
  • Maintain communication and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, marketing, schedule, and sales information for product line
  • Creates clear and thorough acceptance criteria to ensure that the team understands when work is complete; participates in the retrospective
  • Provide direct, high-level support to customers for critical new technology services
  • Promote Weatherford's new technology within the industry by writing technical papers, attending industry conferences, contributing to the development of technical marketing material, making technical sales presentations to customers, and providing other technical support to sales and operations

Qualifications

Experience & Education

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Experience working stand alone in a customers' office designing all facets of well completions
  • Experience in tube move design, torque and drag modelling, gravel pack and frac pack modelling, crossover tool system modelling
  • Experience in creating products presentations, tech units and technical sales sheets
  • Previous field based experience

PREFFERED
  • Experience in Deepwater Subsea Well Completion technology and Semi-Submersible rig operations
  • Previous experience in International Operations
  • Experience with managing a team
  • P&L experience


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

ESSENTIAL
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and team-working skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint computer skills
  • Proficiency in using Windchill/PDM system


PREFFERED
  • Experience in sales presentations
  • Basic knowledge in using Creo (Pro-Engineer) or equivalent 3D solid modeling
  • Experience contracting, negotiating, and change management
