We help a diverse range of customers across the value chain to reduce operating costs and improve productivity. Our team oversees the buying process for an extensive range of products.

Partner with the best

As a Logistics Specialist, you will be part of the Transportation centre of excellence team. You will manage the daily transports in/out-flows within our fulfilment centres and our associated network working closely with all the Turbomachinery & Process Solutions (TPS) departments and logistics providers. You will ensure the achievement of TPS targets on HSE standards, in compliance to Baker Hughes (BH) Integrity and business key performance indicators (KPIs).

As a Logistics specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Manage shipments from point of origin to destination (internal or external to BH, both in inbound and outbound), selecting appropriate transport mode and carriers
  • Build strong relationship with logistic providers and control the efficient flow of goods, service and information in order to meet customer requirements and contractual obligation.
  • Adopt pre-negotiated rates (GSA rates) where applicable and promote it across users
  • Negotiate spot rates with Carrier and/or Freight Forwarder
  • Arrange and manage consolidation, trying to mix volumetric and dense shipments to optimize costs
  • Arrange Dangerous Goods shipments
  • Arrange shipments for exceptional transport (oversize and/or overweight, Project Cargo)
  • Ensure that the information flow is continuous inside all TPS departments
  • Verify the accuracy of supplier's invoices and approve the costs, following BH policy


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:
  • At least 1 year if experience in Freight Services (Ocean, air, road, OOG)
  • Knowledge of freight processes, incoterms, international ground transport limitations
  • Knowledge of EU Customs Regulation
  • Good transport costs understanding
  • Time flexibility (coherent with CET time)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good collaboration and teamwork
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of Transportation Management System (TMS)
