The Geozone Business Manager Production Software & Automation is responsible for the planning, organization, leadership, management and execution within the North America geographical area to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, corporate and product line growth objectives, while maintaining the highest level of service quality and safety commitment to our clients. The Geozone Business Manager will interface with the Geozone Senior Vice President and Global Product Line Vice President to determine and assist in the implementation of product line strategies and will interface regularly with all areas of the sales organization to assure the product line is being represented to meet client expectations and ensure healthy market share position. In addition, this role is responsible for managing the white space between the different product lines and capitalize on multi product line relationships and bundling opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices.
  • Responsible with being familiar with the Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies and takes an active role in the compliance & improvement of Weatherfords Management System including meeting all reporting requirements.

  • Responsible for being familar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherfords Management System.
  • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business.

  • Oversee local product line operations to ensure service safety, quality, and efficiency, and cost-effective management of resources as per objectives. Report all CPARs in a timely manner and lead monthly CPAR reviews for the GZ (Responsible and Accountable for the closure of Quality CPAR's within the GZ).
  • Work with manufacturing and operations in order to manage inventory and asset utilization including recurring demand planning.
  • Ensure compliance with, and commitment to, company processes like Operational Excellence and Performance System, submission and approval of AFEs.

  • Share accountability with sales and business development teams for local customer relationships and market share encroachment. Maintain a high profile within customer community.
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
  • Clearly communicates expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports.

  • Responsible for maximizing financial results of the product line within assigned geography, including forecast, profit and loss, fixed assets, inventory, capital expenditures, payables and receivables Preparation & Review of Bid Summary Analysis (BSA's) for applicable projects with justification both strategic and financial. Presentation and approval of BSA's to appropriate GOA in advance of all commercial submissions.
  • All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses.
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget and processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure.

  • Influence Geozone organization to ensure time is scheduled for team members participate and to complete training and competency assurance program.
  • Create a reliable organization and succession plan.
  • Lead the way on people management to drive a motivated disciplined and productive workforce. This includes effective staff leadership, performance management by setting objectives and driving appraisals and communication.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment and retention of key personnel and to foster an environment that enables the Company to attract and retain a high performing talented workforce.
  • Actively engage with their employees to support talent management through Weatherford's performance management and coaching tools and processes, including but not limited to talent assessments, succession planning and regular coaching opportunities.

  • Participate in Geozone strategy, research and development requirements, and development priority for new and emerging products.
  • Responsible and accountable for refining and executing the above strategies within the Geozone.
  • Ensures all applicable components of the GZ and GPL strategy are developed into a GZ PL stategy and full exectuted across the GZ.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, operations, global product line leaders and marketing to develop and provide product definitions, as well as be responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Defines product line technology specific sales targets for the GZ, in collaboration with the GZ Sales Leader, via budgeting and local market strategy.
  • Communicates and drives technology deployment and technology budget priorities through functional reporting lines from GZ technical Sales people.
  • Demontrates leadership, ethical behaviour and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
  • MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years oil & gas industry experience.
  • 2+ years Branch Plant/P&L experience.
  • Experience in Production and understanding of the Oil & gas Production challenges and applications.
  • Experience in the execution of day to day operations and product related projects.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management, skill in examining tenders, market conditions and operational requirements.
  • Experience in sales and marketing.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques. Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations.
  • Strong organizational and effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and clients. Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community.
  • Ability to think strategically and be operationally rigorous.
