Responsibilities

Develop models to simulate and control drilling tools during well construction. This also involves analyzing data from actual operations to help validate the models

Conceive, design and implement a variety of complex automation projects related to closed loop drilling and drilling automation.
  • Design, develop, and apply control system theory to develop algorithms that will aid in real-time decision making
  • Analyze test data to validate the models and algorithms
  • Work closely with other project teams to understand the requirements & constraints for the technology being developed
  • Develop documentation and work instructions for use of existing and new products, direct communication with users to train and troubleshoot deployed units
  • Problem formulation through the translation of business requirements
  • Support the commercialization of new products.
  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job


Qualifications

REQUIRED
  • Masters in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, applied math, physics or other relevant technical discipline
  • Signal processing
  • Data analysis
  • Matlab/Simulink and/ or Python programming
  • Some control theory of linear exposure (PID) or other advanced control concepts
