JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager/Manager, Corporate Communications will create and drive a strategic, omni-channel external communications program that enhances and protects Nabors' reputation as an energy technology and innovation leader.

Under the direction of the Senior Director, Marketing, Communications & Public Relations, the candidate will manage the day-to-day external communications efforts for Nabors, including media relations, message development and refinement, executive speaking engagements and content development and deployment across owned and social channels.

The Senior Manager/Manager, Corporate Communications may also contribute to the organization's broader ESG, DE&I, community relations and internal communications efforts, or assist in issues/crisis response as needed.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic

  • Develop and execute annual external communications strategies to meet reputational goals and elevate our narrative
  • Ensure message alignment across the organization and with key stakeholders (Investor Relations, HR, etc.)
  • Track, measure and report program KPIs on a regular cadence

 

Media Relations

  • Manage media inquiries and identify pro-active opportunities to engage in the current media cycle
  • Draft and distribute media statements and news releases, as well as develop briefing documents, talking points, Q&As and other preparatory communications materials
  • Prepare spokespeople for interviews and facilitate media trainings
  • Foster relationships with energy reporters
  • Lead media monitoring and reporting

 

Social Media

  • Act as lead publisher for Nabors social media accounts, collaborating with marketing leads to plan and manage an enterprise-wide content calendar
  • Develop and post corporate-level content to Nabors social media channels

 

Website & Content Hub

  • Write, edit and proofread website content
  • Develop and curate stories for the news and insights section, publishing content about our people and technologies
  • Occasionally write or edit marketing brochures, intranet postings and other content as needed

 

Events

  • Maintain calendar of upcoming events
  • Seek and secure speaking opportunities for leadership at prominent industry events (not trade or product related)
  • Help marketing leads manage and coordinate participation at exhibition shows and trade association events

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in Communications, either corporate or agency environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Marketing, Business or a related field
  • Prior experience supporting senior executives and working with media
  • Energy or industrials experience is a plus
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofing capabilities with fluency in AP Style
  • Strong aptitude for project management, including researching, planning, organizing, directing and implementing communication projects
  • Demonstrates teamwork and communications skills in working with all communications team members, keeping them informed, following-up on opportunities, sharing responsibilities across functional boundaries
  • Deep understanding of traditional and new, digital communications tactics
  • Proficiency with measurement tools, monitoring platforms and media databases
