Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is looking for an experienced candidate to lead our Resilience practice in the Carolinas. Primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading strategy development for the Carolinas aimed at establishing Wood as a recognized leader in the market
  • Leading and supporting capture planning and pursuits for resilience-linked work in close collaboration with others in the Carolinas operation, helping with growing and diversifying our services
  • Liaising with East Group Resilience Offier and other East Group initiatives
  • Managing resilience projects as needed
  • Supporting Hazard Mitigation Planning projects and pursuits, both within the Carolinas and nationally

 


Skills / Qualifications

 

 

 

  • 20+ years experience in hazard mitigation, floodplain management, emergency response, and resiliency, preferably in Carolinas geography
  • Practical experience in vulnerability assessment and risk communication
  • Able to drive strategy and vision
  • Business development skills
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communicator, able to build consensus
  • Knowledgable of regulatory drivers, sources of funding
  • Able to build and lead teams
  • Proven track record of successful client management
  • Certified Flooplain Manager (CFM) certification preferred
