Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Reporting Accountant with extensive accounting experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

The Internal Reporting Accountant plays an important role in providing the Middle East & Africa (MEA) Snr Finance Manager, MEA Leadership Team and Group Finance with accurate, timely and reliable financial information and analysis.

The Reporting Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the Group consolidation system is fully completed for the BU in line with the IFRS accounting standards and the Group timetable on a monthly basis, and that BU monthly management reporting is prepared to a high standard. In addition, the role is key to delivering the annual budget, mid-year forecast and rolling forecasts for the BU in line with the timetable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Hyperion input, output, and analysis
  • HFM governance for MEA entities including reporting and follow up on any validations and intercompany balances
  • Preparation and presentation of the MEA monthly management accounts Report including variance analysis on P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and other supporting schedules
  • Consolidation and presentation of flash reports; collating input and variance analysis from all MEA entities
  • Consolidation and presentation of the annual budget, mid-year forecast and monthly rolling forecasts. Involves liaising with all areas of the MEA portfolio as well as corporate functions and overhead teams
  • Presentation of financial information to the SFM and VPs
  • Governance and reporting against MEA monthly balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Monthly and adhoc reporting on areas such as cashflow forecasting, revenue security, backlog & CRM, provisions, dispensations and unfunded work
  • Preparation of ad-hoc data to support Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, Investor relations and Mergers and Acquisitions teams
  • Other ad hoc project/reporting work as directed the SFM


Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified
  • Working towards or recently completed further professional postgraduate accounting qualification

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Oracle / Hyperion HFM experience preferred
  • A good understanding of Group policies and good knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience in a reporting or other key finance role within a complex global organisation
  • Ability to contribute to a high performing team
  • High levels of cultural awareness, sensitivity and discretion
  • Group & BU financial performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customers
  • Corporate governance and decision making
