Overview / Responsibilities

Massy Wood Ltd. is currently seeking expressions of interest for several Mechanical Engineering roles (listed below) for a potential project to be based in Trinidad.

Mechanical Engineering - Rotating:

  • Develop all Mechanical Engineering Designs and specifications for rotating equipment for oil and gas and/or petrochemical facilities in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Review of installation plans for rotating equipment and support installation activities.
  • Support preventative maintenance programs including major equipment downtime turnarounds, analysis of equipment performance information, determination of mean time before failure (MTBF) to achieve optimal equipment performance and maximum life of service.
  • Prepare, supervise or review (as requested) of all required design engineering, construction and commissioning documents as relates to rotating equipment safety and performance.
  • Support equipment procurement activities including technical queries and clarifications.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis utilised in the Energy Sector. These can include but not be limited to HAZID, HAZOP, SAFOP and LOPA.


Mechanical Engineering - Pipeline:

  • Develop all Pipeline and Piping Designs for oil and gas and/or petrochemical facilities in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Develop and review horizontal directional drilling designs for pipeline and piping in line with applicable codes and standards.
  • Develop and implement corrosion prevention and monitoring plans.
  • Develop 3-D facility models in collaboration with CAD resources and applicable software.


Mechanical Engineering - Static Equipment:

  • Develop all Static Equipment (Vessels Exchangers Heaters Boilers) Designs for oil and gas and/or petrochemical facilities in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Develop and revise of process flow diagrams, P&IDs, isometric and other technical drawings.
  • Develop static equipment material selection specifications and data sheets.
  • Develop and review equipment fabrication and inspection plans.
  • Develop and implement corrosion prevention and monitoring plans.
  • Develop 3-D facility models in collaboration with CAD resources and applicable software.


Mechanical Engineering - HVAC:

  • Develop all Heating and Cooling Systems (HVAC) designs for oil and gas and/or petrochemical facilities in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Develop HVAC Equipment Maintenance and Spare Parts Philosophy.
  • Review installation plans for HVAC equipment and support installation activities.
  • Review plans for cleaning and inspection.
  • Prepare, supervise or review (as requested) of all required design engineering, construction and commissioning documents as relates to HVAC safety and performance.


Skills / Qualifications

  • First Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc, BEng).
  • Membership of a professional body preferred.
  • Typically a minimum of 5-8 years' relevant experience.
  • National citizen or permanent resident of Trinidad & Tobago
