Purpose And Responsibilities

  • Prepares job plans for short term and long-term operation related to the ESP works of field development department.
  • Control, check and update inventory of stocks / spare parts / tools etc related to ESP work in the QPD Warehouse.      
  • Verifies, prepare and submits budget applications for carrying out special ESP operation and maintenance, replacement, repair, overhaul, inspection and commissioning works under the scope of field development department.
  • Supervises and controls planned / unplanned ESP workover and ESP start-up / Stop operation.
  • Supervises and controls ESP workover operation at rig (or barge) mob/ demobi.
  • Supervises and controls contactor's offshore work such as ESP vender's ESP assembling/retrieving, Coiled Tubing operation, Wellhead operation etc. including preparation.
  • Assist Senior Drilling Engineer / Senior Reservoir Engineer / Senior Petroleum Engineer for Rig operation related to ESP work.
  • Verifies and submits tender and purchase / service contract documents for various ESP operation & maintenance job to the department manager.
  • Instructs various ESP operations, monitoring & maintenance jobs to wellhead operators.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Coordinates, controls and supports for proper execution of all ESP works carried out by the department personnel at offshore sites, as per the set standards and procedures.
  • Visits offshore site frequently to instruct wellhead operators/ electrical supervisor/ electrical technician for the operation / maintenance activities related to the ESP and ESP Surface facilities on Wellhead platform.
  • Checks and approves contractors' pre-qualification documents and assesses each contactor's capabilities with our requirements. Develops necessary specifications, drawings and other documents for various jobs
  • Verifies and forwards reports, which were submitted by contractors / manufacturers.
  • Assists the Senior Drilling Engineer, Senior Petroleum Engineer, Senior Reservoir Engineer, and Petroleum Engineer for the verification and approval of designs, drawings, specifications and schedules.
  • Plans and arranges tender / bid / quotation opening for contract works in which a QP tender member should witness. Evaluates the bids and finalizes the contractor related to ESP/ESP Surface facilities's installation, replacement and maintenance.
  • Supporting for the preparation of various tender / construction drawings, charts, graphs and sketches. Verifies various drawings submitted by the contractors for construction works. Suggests corrections if required.
  • Plans and arranges various manuals for the department as well as for offshore site facilities and provides necessary technical information and supports for the same as and when required.
  • Monitors the site works closely and controls budget expenditure with the set budget allocations. Verifies the project summary, work completion reports, final statements, inspection reports etc.
  • Performs other similar or related tasks and duties as required and instructed by the department manager

 

Work Contacts:

  • Contacts with manager, senior engineers, engineers in the department / sections clerical staff routinely.
  • Contacts and discuss with other department engineers and supervisors on technical issues related with the offshore site works and budgetary matters.
  • Contacts with the contractors, fabrication companies and suppliers as and when required to direct, clarify or ensure quality works

Independence of Operations:

  • Works as per the specified company policies.
  • Verifies and forwards routing faxes, Inter office correspondences, material / manpower requisitions etc.
  • Verifies and forwards budget applications, proposal for decisions, work completion reports and other budget related documents.

Physical Effort

50% of the time is spent in the office, preparing, verifying or approving various documents, drawings and records. Frequently visits offshore site work locations including platforms and work boats and actively participate in the site works. Used to visit QPD warehouse, contractors' and suppliers' facilities and Workshops frequently. These visits need lot of physical strain and almost all the time will be walking, standing or doing physical jobs

 

Work Environment

50% of the time is spent in the exposed area to the prevailing atmospheric conditions usually high temperature, noisy, sandy and greasy environments.

Minimum requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering discipline with two (2) years’ experience or higher secondary / engineering diploma with five (5) years’ experience.
  • Shorten experience duration is acceptable, subject to manager's approval.
  • Ten (10) years practical experience out of which minimum three (3) years in an oil production company or ESP vender company with good field experience.
  • Shorten experience duration is acceptable, subject to manager's approval.
  • Good command on written and spoken English.
  • Some exposure to the local customs, rules and regulations.

Due to the contract's duration,  the position is a fixed-term until December 2022
