Job Overview:

The role of the project engineer can often be described as that of a liaison between the project manager and the technical disciplines involved in a project. Working within an integrated team of Project Managers & SME's across multiple Oil and Gas facilities the Project Engineer will focus on the following:
  • Interfacing with integrated team to work collaboratively
  • Review documents developed by the engineering consultant against both Client and the applicable industrial standards, inclusive of IFR and IFC drawings, CWP's, Project Execution Plan, Commissioning document, and any other project related documents.
  • Work with Client's Supply Chain Management team, the engineering consulting company and the project manager to develop and/or review Material Requisition forms, technical and commercial bid evaluations and all procurement processes.
  • Provide supports to the construction team during the field execution. Some travel to site may be required but unlikely
  • Ensure APM deliverables align with client requirements
  • Support the APM project teams with drawing and data retrieval from Livelink, eB and SAP


Key Accountabilities:
  • Assist Project Managers with:
    • Developing & monitoring scopes of work
    • Developing and updating project schedule, cost estimates and cost control
    • Facilitating Project and Construction & Risk Management meetings
    • Project progress reporting assisting in status updates updating actions, issues and risks logs
    • RFQ & RFI documentation from the Engineering contractor & Construction teams
    • KMS-MOC implementation and updating
    • Organizing project meetings & completing minutes of meetings between both internal and external parties


Required Qualifications:

Candidates should have the following interests and knowledge:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to work effectively with personnel at site while based in Calgary
  • A Technical Diploma or degree in one of the following areas:
    • Instrumentation Engineering experience Preferred
    • Electrical/Computer Engineering (or similar)
    • Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience reading/understanding P&IDs, SLDs
  • Experience with engineering project deliverables and stage gate project execution phases
  • Experience in execution of small or sustainable projects in a brownfield environment is a plus
  • P.Eng or EIT close to P.Eng.
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite of products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6
  • Minimum 3- 5 Years experience
  • Experience and familiarity with Client's business process is a plus
  • PMP designation is a plus
