Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Staff Lead Mechanical with extensive experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, candidates with suitable mechanical equipment experience in other industries are also encouraged to apply.

The role will involve interfaces with other Discipline, Client, Contractor and Supplier Engineers. Candidates will be required to ensure compliance with the Client's Project Specifications and provide technical support based on proven experience.

The Candidate shall integrate within the Mechanical Group, and to the project team, reporting directly to the Mechanical Discipline Manager and may required visits to a number of client site on an infrequent basis.

The Lead Engineer role provides opportunity to work as single discipline on small projects, key support to operational plant, and also part of an integrated multi-discipline team on larger projects including turnarounds. As well as new opportunuties in non Oil and Gas industries.

Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:

Executing assigned scopes of work.

Supporting and supervising task delegation to team.

Providing discipline expertise to the business.

Candidate shall be degree qualified and have Chartered Engineer status.

Coaching and mentoring as delegated.

Supervision of Graduate Engineers.

Provides input to the performance management of direct reports.

Manage and supervise direct reports.

Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement

Participate in audits and incident investigations as required.

Management of third party suppliers in the execution of Engineering delivery.

Subject Matter Expertise:

Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.

Provide discipline support to the business.

Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports.

Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution

General:

Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports.

Executing assigned personal objectives.

Supporting new none oil and gas projects.

Skills / Qualifications

Candidate shall be degree qualified and have Chartered Engineer status.
