The role of the Electronic Technician is to competently perform all of the required maintenance tasks on Drilling and Measurements downhole tools, wellsite surface systems, and related equipment. These tasks include system testing, assembly and disassembly, service levels, calibration, environmental screening, modification, troubleshooting and repair, all of which must be completed in conformance with D&M and Schlumberger Standards, procedures and practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:

People & Training
  • Follows in the D&M Fixed Step iLearn Technician Training and Development Program.
  • Obtains and maintains the required competencies to perform their job.
  • Understands and complies with Schlumberger's policies and standards.
  • Assists in the development and coaching of less senior Electronic Maintenance Technicians.
  • Assist in assessing less senior electronic technicians in tool specific competency assessments when needed.
  • Promotes the importance of Service Quality, Service Delivery and flawless job execution within the maintenance community.
  • Works closely with peers within the maintenance function as part of a strong and dynamic team.
  • Liaises, where required with Field Operations Personnel.
Process & Equipment
  • Performs the required maintenance tasks in accordance with work orders in Qtrac, SWI's, maintenance manuals, and workmanship standards.
  • Follows SWI's and participates in feedback regarding any discrepancies with SWI.
  • Participate in "first in, first out" methodology to decrease TAT on the BIG 8.
  • Actively use GT (Global Traceability) on D&M Tools.
  • Accurately and timely documents all maintenance tasks using the most up to date Computerized Maintenance Management System (QTrac).
  • Performs equipment repair and modification in a competent and complete manner in accordance with SWI's, maintenance manuals, and workmanship standards.
  • Familiar with and strictly adheres to assigned locations documented work processes.
Process & Equipment
  • Performs troubleshooting on defective equipment in order to isolate the root cause and effectively repair.
  • Provides support to the MSC with failure analysis when required.
  • Understands and helps drive the World Wide Service Quality Plan within the location.
  • Actively uses InTouch Support both for technical solutions and for knowledge sharing.
  • Actively participates in CI-Lean Daily Management System. Contribute to the continual process improvement by creating, participating, and/or implementing CI-Lean Projects.
  • Understand and participate in improving location maintenance KPI's provided on PVD board.
  • Reports honestly and accurately at all times.
  • Ensures all required FCOs and Quality-Checks are up to date and implemented as per policy.
  • Keep current with FCO's, TIRs, Service Quality incidents related to his/her assigned technology.
Quality & HSE
  • Promotes respect, understanding, and adherence to HSE regulations and Service Quality Standards.
  • Wears the required PPE at all times within the Maintenance Facility.
  • Ensures his/her work areas are safe at all times.
  • Follows and is accountable for Schlumberger policies and procedures on health, safety and environment.
  • Uses QUEST to report both Quality and HSE events and for follow up on action items.
  • Maintains at all times up-to-date generic and job-related Quality and HSE training.
  • Is committed to the highest levels of quality in their work with a strong "do it right first time mentality".
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of Schlumberger and client information and ensures less senior technicians do likewise.
  • Reports Observation / Intervention and participate in self- and cross-departmental quality audits.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Technical Expertise
  • Mid-career hire with 3 years' experience
  • Associate Degree in Electrical or Electronics
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship.
