Responsibilities

Our Senior Payroll Analyst will ensure payroll for all salaried employees in accordance with existing procedures. In addition you will oversee smooth running of the Payroll Department.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ownership of the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of the payroll process; directly accountable for the results and the resolution of any issues arising from the output
  • Verify wage calculations, deductions and other ad hoc remuneration for errors or inconsistencies; be able to identify complex problems and resolve them without direct supervision
  • Accountable for data integrity in payroll system, which is dependent on other upstream systems (i.e. HR, Time & Attendance, Benefit Provider), and ensure data updated as needed
  • Manage implementation of data, process or systemic fixes required to resolve issues
  • Independently ensure compliance of employee payroll is consistent with organizational policies and procedures, as well as government regulations.
  • Implement random reviews/audits on inputs to validate an accurate reflection of business pay practices
  • Manage error logs from input/output interfaces to/from payroll system and resolve errors so data can be properly loaded to its destination with minimal oversight
  • Manage payment calendars for the fiscal year, overpayment recovery process from employees and retro-deductions when employees on leave
  • Manage distribution of direct deposits and pay cards
  • Process any manual or special payments not coming from time & attendance system
  • Manage off-cycle or non-routine payments (i.e. advances)
  • Respond to requests from the government authorities pertaining to payroll
  • Respond in a timely manner to all internal and external requests and inquiries.
  • Manage business report requests and provide as needed
  • Stay updated on state and federal payroll and tax laws
  • Manage accurate and timely administration of garnishments
  • Manage registration of new accounts when required for income tax withholding and unemployment tax
  • Collaborate and ensure effective communication with counterparts in Finance, HR and IT to ensure coordination across the whole organization relating to payroll execution
  • Provide guidance to more junior team members
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of information.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations.
  • Complies with applicable company policies, including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures.

 


Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Payroll, Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years payroll/finance/accounting/audit related experience
  • Experience with ADP GlobalView payroll system, preferred
  • Microsoft Tools (Word, Excel)
