Collaborate with dynamic, cross-functional and international teams

As Director of Global Government Affairs, you will serve as our primary liaison to UK policymakers. You will collaborate within a diverse global government affairs team to protect and advance our interests across all regions, product companies and functions. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our position in the future of energy.

As Director of Global Government Affairs, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Leading our UK government affairs through serving as the primary point of contact for UK and Scottish governments and foreign governments domiciled in London
  • Identifying, tracking and effectively communicating public policy developments to the business to formulate practical recommendations for the company's response
  • Positioning our company as an integral partner of Energy Transition through UK and EU climate policies, funding and participation in key collaborations
  • Representing the company in key trade associations and other relevant, non-governmental organizations to best position us in the market
  • Coordinating commercial advocacy globally to help drive key deals to successful completion
  • Managing record-keeping and reporting to maintain compliance with company policy and applicable public ethics laws

 


To be successful in this role you will:

 

 

  • Have solid, professional expertise in government and advocacy on behalf of a company, trade association or government affairs firm
  • Have substantial experience in energy and climate policy and an existing network of meaningful, constructive government relationships
  • Display excellent communications skills, with an ability to engage with senior global leaders with poise and confidence
  • Show the ability to multi-task effectively and balance priorities in an ever changing, fast-moving, time-sensitive environment
  • Demonstrate a focus on internal stakeholder care and responsiveness, with solid interpersonal awareness
  • Be able to anticipate needs and make judgement calls within your area of expertise and responsibility
  • Display a high value for integrity, kindness and show a sense of humor
  • Be a proactive, motivated self-starter, maintaining discipline and focus in managing long term initiatives without close supervision
