This role coordinates and oversees work at the a field site, providing quality service to the customer. Job role may include sales, job design, execution, and follow up activities. Provides the planning necessary for the job including instructions to the crew and equipment used. Coordinates and directs the activities of service operators. Coordinates the clean-up, repair, and preparation of equipment for the next job. May evaluates individual performance levels of the crew and trains operators to improve their job performance.
As a Field Specialist - Mechanic Centrifugal Compressors & Steam Turbine - Services, you will be responsible for:
Providing direction and assistance to workgroups in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Providing general technical direction and assistance to customers in the operation, maintenance, repair, safe handling, and installation of GE products.
Providing assessment about parts storage and maintenance and make necessary storage preservation recommendation
Conducting maintenance planning, pre-Outage, Outage, and post-Outage planning activities.
Assisting the customers with regular reviews of maintenance activities.
Responding to the Customer's technical inquiries utilizing internal technical support services if necessary.
Providing information regarding the latest advancements in Conversion, Modification, and Upgrades (CM&U) opportunities to the customer and assisting with implementations of any recommendations.
Working with the customer's site teams to develop maintenance schedules, which optimize Covered Unit reliability and availability.
In conjunction with Owner and Resident Material Manager, performing the on-Site inspection of all mechanical parts (new, used, or refurbished) for completeness, correct execution against drawings, damage, etc.
Assisting customers in scheduling maintenance and workload assuring that equipment and parts requirements meet established schedules.
Carrying out borescope inspections, both routine and during any required investigations.
Ensuring all in-field activities are carried out safely complying with company Environmental Health and Safety guidelines and procedures. Provide direction and assistance to workgroups to meet assigned objectives. To be successful in this role you will:
Have a Bachelor's degree, college, or high school diploma and relevant work experience
Have at least 5+ years of experience in field service or maintenance positions.
Have the ability to understand and implement technical drawings (Mechanical drawings, P&ID, General Arrangement, etc.)
Have knowledge in maintenance procedures for Centrifugal Compressors, start-up, operation, mechanical overhaul.
Have knowledge in Centrifugal compressors commissioning, troubleshooting and operation.
Have experience leading people and crews for site activities.
Have oral and written communication skills
Have willingness and availability to travel worldwide 80% of the time.
Have oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Have the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
Have customer service mindset
Have organizational skills, project management skills
