Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Specialist with a minimum of 8 years of experience to join Texas office and become an integral member of our technical team. Key responsibilities will include providing contract/project management and technical support on various asbestos, lead, and mold assessment and abatement projects for existing and new environmental/industrial/government clients.

Key Responsibilities :

 

  • Serve as a Point of Contact on state-wide or local contracts for key clients
  • Manage and/or support key projects and tasks
  • Coordinating and leading environmental field and office tasks
  • Perform complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved technologies and procedures
  • Assist with data assessment and report preparation
  • Adherence to health and safety plans, work plans, and other project guidance documents
  • Participate in reporting activities at hazardous waste sites
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior staff and be a team player

 


Skills / Qualifications

Required :

 

 

  • Texas specific licenses or certifications, such as:
    • Asbestos - Asbestos Inspector; Asbestos Project Manager; Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician
    • Lead - Lead Risk Assessor; Lead Inspector
    • Mold - Mold Assessment Consultant; Mold Assessment Technician
  • Experience managing teams of inspectors
  • Experience overseeing and managing subcontractors
  • Experience with Federal and State regulations related to asbestos, lead, and mold
  • Computer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong written, verbal, and inter-personal skills
  • Good team building skills and ability to lead by influence
  • Good time-management skills. Ability to focus and attention to detail
  • Must be organized and able to communicate clearly
  • Team player and technical contributor
  • Able to operate within scope, schedule and budget during project implementation


Preferred :

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a natural science
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER certification
  • 8-hr Supervisor training
