Our client is currently looking for a IOT Software Developer.  This is a one-year contract with possibility of extension and will be based in Calgary AB.

IOT Software Developer

Job Description:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Design, configure, integrate, Install and test smart devices in the field that collect operational telemetry data that tie into PCN systems
  • Manage priorities, deadlines and deliverables
  • Focus on overall product quality and user experience
  • Take initiative and be responsible for technical solutions to data quality and workflow challenges
  • Test your code, embrace you build it, you own it
  • Collaborate with Process Control, Electrical and Automation teams and other Software Developers across Chevron to share your experiences and learn from theirs
  • Provides technical support to local operations personnel in the ongoing maintenance and administration of systems including cybersecurity, information and risk compliance, software license management, and software patch management.
  • Work in both office and field site environments, engaging directly with business subject matter experts

Qualifications (What You Need):

  • 5+ years of experience in a full-time development role
  • DevOps experience (CI/CD, Azure DevOps boards, Github)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, Cybersecurity, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.
  • Process Control System experience with in-depth knowledge of Rockwell and Honeywell process control environment.
  • B.S. preferred in Computer Science or related discipline

You have deep knowledge and experience in the areas listed:

  • Experience with C#; Python experience is a plus
  • Experience with OSI PI and other PCN systems
  • React or Angular for web UI development
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure IoT Developer; Azure IOT platform experience: Azure IoT Edge, Hub and Sphere
  • Azure Ecosystem: Cosmos DB, PowerBI, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake
  • Industrial and Enterprise IoT experience is a huge plus (i.e., Deepstream, TensorFlow, PyTorch)



  • Be comfortable driving discussions clearly with a wide range of partners and levels of the organization
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate work activities across multiple teams and be successful at meeting deadlines and keeping projects on time, driving towards a common goal and alignment with key strategies
