Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting an Accountant to play a critical role in the Legal Entity Rationalisation Team reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance Projects. The role involves significant interaction with internal business teams as well as external auditors, advisors and service providers. A key aspect of the role is facilitating and executing the closure of legal entities and branches as well as supporting on other Finance Projects. Preferably this role would be based in our Aberdeen office, however other UK locations will be considered. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career with a large global organisation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial step plans
  • Management of all accounting entries to ensure they are prepared accurately and in line with corporate deadlines
  • Ensure results are accurately reported and analysed
  • Liaising with external auditors, advisors and service providers
  • Liaise with the UK Regional Finance Centre (RFC) function to ensure all statutory compliance is up to date
  • Interact with Business Unit Finance and Group Functions to obtain financial information and assist the business to close out actions prior to commencing the elimination process
  • Support the business to ensure delivery of key milestones
  • Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required


Skills / Qualifications

  • Qualified CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA or working toward qualification

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • A good understanding of accounting rules and regulations
  • Proficient user of excel
  • Good commercial knowledge
  • Ability to successfully prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Good systems experience (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion)
  • Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships
  • Shows willingness to make improvements and shares best practice
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisation
  • Ability to contribute to a high performing team
