The digital team at Schlumberger Stonehouse Technology Centre has a focus on leveraging big data with domain and operational expertise to digitally support for drilling system, that will reliably and predictably deliver optimized tool performance, increase efficiency, sustainability and maintainability, and reduce cost.

The team is seeking Data Scientist who is responsible for conducting machine learning techniques and tackle industrial data questions. Drawing on an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics or applied mathematics, the Data Scientist demonstrates the knowledge to apply algorithms to solve data problems.

  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and contribute to technical discussions and reviews as an expert in related areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with field and engineers to identify and extract key business values from data.
  • Apply engineering knowledge in developing data-driven algorithms for regression, classification, anomaly detection, failure prediction and optimization.
  • Generate innovative ideas, perform machine learning techniques, and execute on engineering projects.
  • Apply machine learning knowledge to solve industrial problems.
  • Process large multivariate data sets collected from equipment operations, manufacturing tests and diagnostic routines.
  • Communicate ideas and results effectively via oral and written reports.


Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, or Data Science. Alternatively Bachelors or Masters in any STEM Disciplines with 1 to 3 years data science experience.

  • Highly proficient in Python programming
  • Highly proficient in applying machine learning techniques
  • Highly experienced with cloud computing (Google Cloud, Microsoft azure)
  • Knowledge of analytics tools (Dashboard, PowerBI)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
