The IWS Integrated Planning Leader acts as the accountable individual for planning tasks within their cluster of rigs. They will act as the direct contact with the client for all technical planning related matters. They will be responsible for maintaining the schedule and resource requirements for all planning efforts and controls the activities within the cluster as well as directing the resources to those activities. As the planning lead for their cluster, the Integrated Planning Leader is accountable for both Baker Hughes and client process and procedure adherence within their cluster for all planning efforts. Long term, cluster-specific strategies and priorities are also to be set and followed-up by the Integrated Planning Leader. In addition to leading the activities within their cluster, the Integrated Planning Leader will also have technical oversight on planned activities, risk and risk mitigations and performance improvement initiatives.

The Integrated Planning Leader is also accountable for a coherent handover of plans from the Planning function to both the Prepare and Execution functions. To ensure a closed-loop learning and experience transfer process. They will be expected to be part of regular experience transfer from the Execution group and ensure incorporation of those experiences into planning deliverables.

The IWS Integrated Planning Leader owns the technical planning process and deliverables across all Product Lines within their planning cluster. They will also provide long-range steering and direction within their cluster based on a common understanding of customer requirements between themselves and the client cluster planning lead. You will drive close engagement with service delivery, HSE, commercial and sales, and other Baker Hughes product lines. In this role, you will be involved in the planning and handover of planning deliverables for IWS projects.

As an Integrated Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Forecasts planning requirements for upcoming wells; reports requirements into Well Engineering Manager should elevation be required. Maintains Planning Center schedule / requirement lookahead based on common understanding between themselves and client planning cluster leader.
  • Provide long-range steering and direction to Planning center within their cluster.
  • Ability to develop, communicate and implement strategies, priorities and positive change within their cluster.
  • Directs activity within their planning cluster and ensures the resources assigned to their wells are used productively. Provides the barrier to technical resources against both Equinor and internal stakeholders.
  • Directs traffic within their cluster and controls the engagement between Operations Center and Planning Center, including during MOC/re-plans handed back from the Operations Center.
  • Oversight of planning activities and deliverables from all Product Lines, project risk profile and proposed mitigations and act as a QC for deliverables from their cluster.
  • Analyze KPIs and trends to drive continuous improvement within their rig cluster and assign associated tasks to available resources. Follow up and report out on continuous improvement actions to Baker Hughes and client management.
  • Deliver value to the organization through integration of technical plans, risk mitigations and performance improvements.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with client Cluster Planning Leaders and client engineers.
  • Bring together planning resources as required for operational time estimations and reviews relative to performance-based contract terms.
  • Takes business guidance from Senior Project Manager.
  • Takes technical guidance from Well Engineering Manager.
  • Direct contact with client Planning Center cluster lead to set priorities within their cluster.
  • Accountable for process adherence within their cluster; ability to influence others and implement organizational and procedural changes to a varied team.
  • Liaise internally with SDTMs/Well Engineering Manager for technical support, resource allocation and prioritization.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are in line with HSE policies and procedures, and drive HSE culture by setting example through safe work practices.
  • Conduct business according to Baker Hughes values.
  • Participate in customer presentations & meetings (may include travel to other locations).
  • Prepare and participate in peer reviews, peer assists and other quality assurance activities related to the project.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Comply with data management according to IWS procedures.
  • Keep abreast of technological and engineering process advancements through affiliation with professional societies and participation in networks, workshops, seminars and training courses.

 


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will need:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with MS in Petroleum/Oil & Gas or Well Engineering.
  • Proven years of relevant work experience in well construction, completions, intervention and/or optimization: the experience could include drill bits, BHA design, engineering simulations, field operations, integrated project management, preparation of programs/designs, or similar.
  • Demonstrated history of acting as a leader to a peer group or direct reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work well with colleagues across all businesses/cultures, achieve objectives through effective influencing, and establish credibility with senior leaders.
  • Excellent analytics and problem-solving, including ability to form hypotheses and move forward in the absence of complete information.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize complex topics into clear and simple messages.
  • MS office suite, power BI or other analytical tools, well engineering and design software (for example: hydraulics, torque and drag, basic casing design)

 


Desired Characteristics:

 

 

  • Previous relevant experience leading integrated drilling and completion projects
  • Advanced knowledge/exposure to various well operations: conventional rotary drilling, horizontal and/or multilateral wells, slot recovery, interventions, and completions
  • Spoken Norwegian proficiency desired.
  • Well Control awareness
  • Geo-mechanics knowledge
