Overview

We are seeking a Planning and Performance Management Analyst to join our Upstream Strategy and Portfolio Management team. This position is part of a segment level finance team that plays a critical role within Upstream Finance, providing control, oversight and assurance of the planning, management and efficiency of the segment portfolio through ongoing scrutiny, benchmarking and continual improvement recommendations.

As part of the team, the Analyst will be responsible for providing evaluation and decision support on Upstream segment and Corporate initiatives through economic analysis and modeling, ensuring in-depth understanding of valuation, risks and overall impacts on segment portfolio and financials.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Evaluate and support capital and operating expenditure cost allocation decisions for the Upstream segment through ongoing scrutiny, striking the right balance between challenge and support for segment admin areas case submissions.

Provide analytical findings and recommendations relating to regular Planning & Performance Management (P&PM) tasks such as business plan preparation, performance tracking and measurement, and performance analysis and accountability reporting.

Conduct special P&PM-related studies such as the development of performance initiatives and business cases, benchmarking, risk management, design and re-design of measurements, processes and workflows, and information system-related changes.

Develop new financials models or review segment related models providing economic insights on earnings, investments and energy market matters.

Develop benchmarking analysis to identify value opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related discipline. Advanced Business degree (e.g. MBA) and / or a relevant professional certificate (e.g. CFA, CMA) would be favorable.

Have a strong oil and gas financial experience with sound quantitative background and analytical skills.

Have a minimum of 7 years of related experience in capital management, planning, economic risk management, M&A and benchmarking activities.

Can track record in the field of financial analysis, portfolio valuation and management.

Have an experience with Hyperion Strategic Finance would be considered an asset.
