Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Safaniya Technical Support Division (STSD), under Northern Area Technical Support Department (NATSD).

NATSD provides engineering support for the Northern Area Oil Operations with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of varied disciplines to maximize profitability and meeting highest standards of safety and environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Provide high level engineering services to the oil producing and maintenance departments.

Support projects with respect to scoping, design review, inspection and commissioning of new electrical equipment; review of design packages for compliance with industry and company standards.

Provide technical support to plant maintenance personnel including troubleshooting and forensic analysis of electrical faults. Initiate or conduct special electrical studies for improving facilities power system.

Provide specialized technical service in electrical engineering fields.

Initiate electrical designs or studies related to oil processing and oil handling facilities, residences and utilities.

Occasionally review electrical design aspects of new facilities of the type mentioned .

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate, you

Will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Other advanced professional engineering degree in related field is preferred.

Should have a Minimum of 15 years of professional engineering experience effectively performing similar roles and responsibilities, preferably in oil and gas facility.

Must be confident with engineering and design principles related to electrical engineering. Must have experience in electrical engineering and design application such as ETAP and/or SKM software to perform power system load flow short circuit studies.

Must have experience working with Un-interruptible Power Supply System, VFD system, GIS systems, power transformers, HV and LV switchgears and LV MCCs. Furthermore, Knowledge base of substations equipment and electrical distribution systems is required along with maintenance and operation expertise.

Are familiar with engineering practices, codes and international standards requirement, calculation methods and design details.

Understand and interpret and analyze different types of engineering documents and data.

Have an In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles and the ability to reflect them in engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering phase.

Are able to design and support electrical engineering systems, transmission lines and cogeneration plants. Skills of technical reporting, presenting, paper writing, negotiating and convincing others as well as and mentoring teams are highly recommended.
