Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Instrument or Electircal Engineering Co-ordinator with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. This is a d ual role of Engineering Coordinator (responsible for all discipline engineers and designers on contract) and hands on Lead E&I engineer (directly manage E&I discipline on contract). This role is suitable for either a Lead Electrical or Lead Instrument engineer.
  • Provide Instrument or Electrical Engineering Expertise
  • Provide input to development of studies
  • Define instrument or Electrical requirements for technical scopes related to various modifications
  • Originating, checking and approval of Instrument or Electrical engineering & design deliverables
  • Provide support to HAZOPs/HAZID's and other technical reviews as required
  • Provide support to the project manager and the contract delivery team
  • Provide technical expertise to the contract
  • Resolve instrument or electrical related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
  • Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of instrument or electrical designs
  • Provide support for inter-discipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking
  • Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirements of lead Instrument or Electrical Engineer
  • Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement
  • Utilise software tools in design development and checking as required
  • Prepare instrument or electrical input to estimates for modifications
  • Liaise with function personnel to achieve cost and schedule targets
  • Review and report progress to meet deadlines
  • Assess progress and associated reports and advise of any slippages, correct inefficiency and take any resulting agreed actions
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of a multi-discipline engineering team
  • Ensure appropriately resourced and competent personnel on Project/Contract
  • Provide oversight and control of contract engineering histogram to support workforce planning
  • Provide support in identifying and requesting functional support to projects as required
  • Provide technical assurance
