This position is a customer facing leader that is responsible for winning business. Deep knowledge of the external subsea market & trends and operating mode. Develops market approach strategy & vision towards with an impact on short-medium- and long-term pipeline of deals and orders. The role will actively engage and influence business development planning & execution processes for this market.

This role will lead the development and expansion of existing markets as well as establishing new market and accounts targeting high volume profitable growth. Leads the Sales department for Subsea Production Systems across all geographies working closely with Geographical Product Company Leadership.

As a Subsea Production Systems Executive Sales Leader, you will be responsible for:
  • Selling product(s), services, parts, solutions, or projects for Subsea Production Systems globally.
  • Selling very sophisticated products, product lines and systems requiring a thorough technical knowledge and knowledge of the subsea sector where the products or systems will be used. Products, product lines and systems can be client specific and involve detailed system and design work with the customer in the front-end process.
  • Managing very complex long-term sales processes, complexity from full field and consortium technical solutions, long-term contract conditions, indirect management of internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales Application Engineering, Commercial Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, Product Development, other product line leaders) as well as external, such as government (PPPs), etc.
  • Managing global business unit key clients.
  • Leading the sales process when negotiation involves a strategic, high volume or financial impact to the business. Leads negotiations with a client organization. Indirect leadership and influence multidisciplinary teams internally (e.g. engineering, legal, risk, finance etc.).
  • Being directly involved in big sales projects with a combined yearly value of +/-$1Bln.
  • Being accountable for the oversight and proactive management and development of the regional opportunity pipeline.
  • Being accountable for developing customer account plans and sales strategies to grow business.
  • Being accountable for identifying opportunities and for including them in the deal pipeline whilst ensuring Deal Machine data and forecasts are accurate.
  • Owning the customer relationship, working closely with the Com Ops organization to develop the project specific capture plan and our winning strategy.
  • Leading the front-end sales process via the Baker Hughes Bid -2-Execute workflow process, which includes:
  • Being responsible for customer onboarding process and entry (and maintenance) of opportunity in Deal Machine
  • Being responsible for the timely completion of Pursue/No Pursue reviews, bringing a team together to develop the initial capture strategy, resourcing needs, action plan and recommendation
  • Ensuring close customer connection to enable the successful execution of the Pursuit Capture plan
  • Providing critical support to the negotiation phase to secure customer acceptance
  • Providing critical insights to pursuit and proposal strategy, spanning system solution, execution plan, competitor behavior, price benchmarking, providing regional and customer intelligence
  • Leading the Regional sales personnel that is responsible for:
  • The development and maintenance of their regional opportunity pipeline
  • Identifying opportunities and for including them in the pipeline (in Deal Machine)
  • The customer onboarding process, entry and maintenance of opportunity in Deal Machine
  • Owning the customer relationship, and working closely with the Pursuit Leader to develop the capture plan and our winning strategy
  • Leading in the development of price benchmarking, providing critical regional and customer insight

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have experience in and/or outside the organization with typically 10+ years relevant business experience. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master level degree.
  • Have experience in managing others for at least 2 years
  • Have a Bachelor's degree. Engineering, technical or business degree preferred.
  • Have proven team leadership skills: demonstrated ability to effectively develop, influence and motivate others
  • Have substantial sales and commercial leadership experience
  • Show excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels
  • Be a change agent with demonstrated ability to drive sustainable change
  • Be willing to travel globally, estimated 25-50%
  • Demonstrate understanding of the broader O&G market & its customers
  • Be able to build up networks and credibility with peers and senior staff
  • Show proven leadership in strategic customer assessments and sales
  • Show profound understanding of Global & Regional O&G Customer dynamics
  • Be a highly motivated "self-starter" who is goal oriented, has very good interpersonal, leadership, oral and written communication, and technical skills
  • Be able to work independently and in case of a managerial role, have experience of at least 5+ years managing teams
