Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and performance-driven individual to fill the Engineering Project Liaison role. Reporting to the Engineering Project Lead and interface with the engineering lead in other work centres to support engineering delivery for Brunei Shell Petroleum Offshore Facilities Rejuvenation contract.

Role involves interfacing, coordinating, communicating, and supporting Wood's engineering goals. Responsible to support engineering project lead in Brunei for ensuring quality and timely engineering deliverables produced by other work centres.

Responsible to support engineering lead in other work centres to achieve synergy and alignment of engineering goals across multiple work centres to support project delivery team in Brunei.

The candidate preferably possesses project engineering and planning experience with practical engineering experience in major brownfield environment across portfolio of projects.

Core competencies in engineering delivery are essentials for candidates to be successful in this role and support, coordinate and communicate the following:

Quality assurance

 

  • Delivery of engineering deliverables between work centres embedding the Wood 'right size solution' philosophy with project delivery team
  • Actions between work centres on oversight and compliance with agreed engineering scopes, technical proposal, and contract requirements
  • Providing steer to engineering disciplines between work centres on compliance with contract execution plan, checking procedures and checklists


Risk management

 

 

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate engineering delivery risks throughout the life cycle of the engineering delivery phase from work initiation until completion to ensure threat against base scope, approved schedule and budget are not compromised across work centres
  • Identified project risk and mitigation discussed in the project risk evaluation meeting to ensure alignment of execution across work centres
  • Actions between work centres on oversight and assurance activities associated with contract risk management plan compliance throughout the engineering delivery life cycle


Change Management

 

 

  • Actions between work centres on oversight and assurance of change management pertaining to engineering scope, schedule and budget to ensure compliance with contract procedures and processes
  • Actions between work centres to provide timely closure of change management process associated with engineering deliverables, delivery schedules and budget to ensure effect on project management deliverables
  • Actions between work centres on oversight and assurance of change management pertaining to the review of weekly Change Alert (CA) report and support closure and action of open CA's associated with schedule impact and project change notice (PCN) with project delivery team and project control & planning team


Planning and Cost Control

 

 

  • Actions between work centres on oversight and assurance of integrity of baseline schedule in terms of correctness of basis and assumptions, resource availability, budget adequacy and correctness of sequencing of activities
  • Actions between work centres on oversight and assurance of targeted minimum level of weekly resource productivity across all engineering disciplines to ensure forecast of schedule overrun is addressed
  • Actions between work centres on oversight and assurance of weekly budget accrual across all engineering disciplines to ensure forecast of budget overspent is addressed
  • Actions between work centres on evaluation and identification of risks and mitigation supporting engineering baseline schedule development during schedule build session as well as review correctness of basis of engineering schedule document
  • Support in ensuring compliance with integrated activity planning guidelines and readiness of engineering disciplines in attending the session between work centres


Continuous Improvement

 

 

  • Actions between work centres pertaining to functional lessons learned on project across the portfolio
  • Engineering delivery excellence key initiatives between work centres as part of the continuous improvement process
  • Effort between work centres in perfecting and innovating existing delivery process to support annual operational key result area
  • Actions between work centres on the development, implementation and oversight of continuous improvement plan associated with engineering deliverables and change management


Other roles and responsibilities that are equally important to support, coordinate and communicate are:

 

 

  • Actions between work centres pertaining to technical assurance audit
  • Actions between work centres on activity readiness for global operational assurance audit annually by Wood corporate
  • Actions between work centres on readiness and review of engineering proposal at 'Define' and 'Execute' phase of project delivery to strengthen proposal integrity
  • Collate and report key successes and challenges across all engineering disciplines
  • Feedback across the engineering disciplines in all work centres to support the development of functional brief on key weekly activities
  • Support engineering project lead in managing package equipment that involves multidiscipline involvement as instructed by the engineering manager
  • Primary interface and coordination focal between work centres for engineering delivery
  • Maintain and promote Wood Values and Behaviors
  • Promote high level of safety awareness and compliance with contract HSSE Plan, procedures and standards

Skills & Qualities

 

 

  • Proven experience in communicating and coordinating engineering delivery in multicultural environment
  • Possess good knowledge in offshore oil & gas 'Define' and 'Execute' engineering phase projects particularly in major brownfield environment
  • Possess good knowledge and proficiency in project engineering in FEED and EPC environment
  • Possess the good project engineering experience in Engineering, Fabrication, Procurement, Offshore Construction and Commissioning would be advantageous
  • Possess high level of commitment, tenacity, and patience to see through actions until completion
  • Possess well-developed management and administrative skills
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skill
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication as well as presentation skills
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office Suites ; Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word, etc


Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent

Experience

More than 5 years in Oil & Gas with a good blend of engineering, project engineering and management as well planning
