Our Legal Team takes responsibility for developing and safeguarding our company's global mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and strategic investments. We provide critical legal support across all product companies working closely with the company's business development team and all of the legal department's functions. We partner with the business to provide advice, guidance and action to ensure the success of the future of our business.

Reporting to the Director, HR M&A, Policies & Audit, the Senior HR M&A Manager will be accountable for the management of all M&A human capital issues, ensuring smooth integration with other company functions through deal life-cycle including: due diligence, integration planning, post sign/close divestiture work, execution and transition, and may include the following responsibilities:

As a Senior Human Resources Mergers and Acquisitions Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing HR best practices on processes that will be utilized during all deal initiatives, both domestic and international, continuously improving the deal execution and integration processes.
  • Serving as HR lead on M&A team meetings and partners with Global HR organization and HR Centers of Excellence on due diligence and analysis. Ensuring all HR efforts are coordinated and operational HR risks are identified and addressed during due diligence and integration.
  • Providing expertise, strategic consulting as well as thought leadership to help drive effective people strategies for each deal and influence deal negotiations accordingly.
  • Enhancing the structure of the HR M&A due diligence and deal life-cycle processes, including integration checklists, project templates, best practices and project management tools pertaining to HR.
  • Serving as a liaison to ensure smooth integration of mergers and acquisitions into the organization, providing valuable insight on integration of HR processes and practices
  • Partnering with Product Company and Regional HR on separation efforts; acting as SME to guide processes to ensure consistency; participates in separation and trailing post-close activities to ensure resolutions that are consistent with deal agreements.
  • Working closely with all L&E, Business Development and other functional teams to ensure a comprehensive and consistent people strategy for all M&A activity
  • Partnering and coaching extended HR team to ensure integration and/or divestiture plans are delivered consistently across the globe, in compliance with local processes and policies, and with a focus on delivering a seamless and engaging employee experience
  • Assisting our HR Regional teams in troubleshooting M&A related issues and supporting the unique needs of acquired employees and leaders throughout their first year as they transition to new HR tools, programs, and processes


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in HR from an accredited college or university
  • Have significant number of years of experience in Human Resources
  • Have experience managing HR functional activities in the context of business acquisitions, mergers, and/or divestitures
  • Have experience managing a global HR portfolio, with front facing experience and knowledge of global labour and employment standards/requirements and how they impact people processes; experience in policy and front-facing HR roles an asset
  • Demonstrate project and program management skills is required with proven success in driving and completing multiple cross-functional and cross-regional project experience
  • Have proven discretion in managing highly confidential information, including sensitive employee demographic and compensation data and adherence to global data privacy requirements
  • Possess problem solving and critical thinking skills " ability to see the "bigger picture" and understand strategic/broader implication, but also get into the weeds when needed
  • Be able to understand and see the connectivity between HR and other functional partners
