Wood PLC is proud to offer 3 x Engineering Design Traineeships based at our Perth Western Australia office. These are across Structural, Piping and Electrical / Instrument disciplines - this opportunity is for an Electrical & Instrumentation Designer - Trainee.
The roles are offered to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only in accordance with section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984. Applicants will be required to provide proof of their Australian Aboriginality at an initial interview with our Community Engagement Advisor.
The traineeships require a two-year commitment by you to complete a Certificate III in Engineering through TAFE whilst working full time.

About the Role
You will be part of a supportive and close-knit team with a proven training and development plan that will guide and mentor you through this journey. Under the guidance of our senior design staff, you will learn to:
- Interpret and produce engineering design drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) from sketches and other data.
- Review existing drawings.
- Learn to share ideas and contribute to innovative solutions to meet the project objectives.
- Support the development and improvement of HS&E procedures, initiatives, and programs.
- You will be working in a culturally supportive environment with access to our Community Engagement Advisor as an external mentor.

Skills / Qualifications
You will have the following:
- A desire to develop new skills and be enthusiastic about learning.
- Be punctual, reliable, conscientious and courteous.
- A reasonable level of mathematics.
- Successfully completed year 12 or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willing to attend and complete a Certificate 3 in Engineering at TAFE (company funded)
- Able to comply with our Drug & Alcohol policy
