Job Summary:

Facility Planner is an engineering web application to design, cost and plan Oil & Gas process facilities. Facilities are the chemical processing plants that treat hydrocarbons coming from the reservoir, to enable the export of oil and gas products. Facilities operations are big contributors to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The application is now entering a new development phase aiming to include GHGs emissions reduction strategies to meet the zero emissions target. This includes CO2 reductions from combustion by leveraging renewables electrification, abatement of methane fugitive and venting emissions by using monitoring, etc. Facility Planner is also an extensible infrastructure that could be used to plan and design the processing facilities needed by the energy transition, such as green hydrogen or carbon capture facilities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

The intern would be responsible for implementing business requirements and explore new solutions around GHG emissions reductions for Facility Planner. The successful candidate would gain exposure to cloud development, the energy transition landscape and agile practices whilst being embedded in the development team. They would gain exposure to a wide range of technologies on both front and back ends in a live commercial environment.

Qualification:

Penultimate or final year student, studying towards Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field.

Competencies:

Required skills:
  • Strong programming background

Experience in one of the following would be advantageous:
  • Full-stack web development
  • Machine learning
