Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under direct supervision, rigs-up and rigs-down fiber optic installation and acquisition equipment on wellsite locations for the purpose of installing fiber optic cables into sub-surface geological formations.
- Operates fiber optic installation equipment during cable deployment on rig operations
- Operates fiber optic splicing and testing equipment to terminate fiber and measure signal (Fusion Splicing & OTDR)
- Maintains, cleans and performs preventative maintenance on downhole installation equipment
- Performs pre and post job vehicle and equipment inspections and associated paperwork and/or reports.
- Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.
- Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
- Operates data acquisition equipment during long-term monitoring projects (DAS/DTS/DPS)
- This position may include wireline job duties such as assisting in the installation of fiber optic retrievable based applications.
- High school or similar education and 6 months of experience as an Operator Assistant II is required.
- Licensure to drive commercial equipment is preferred.
- Successful completion of Well Control Accreditation Program may be required (some locations).
- Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required.
- Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Service Operator II - Pinnacle or Service Specialist I - Pinnacle.
