Partner with the best

As Lead Application Engineer, you will provide high level technical and commercial support as a key member of the Valves Application Engineering Center of Excellence. This includes supporting both standard and non-standard valve technical selection, proposal generation, supporting direct opportunities, and provide guidance and development for other members within Application Engineering team.

As a Lead Application Engineer - Center Of Excellence, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to other Application Engineer team members of the Consolidated global Center of Excellence.
  • Interpreting the customer requirements & specifications with quality and timeliness to meet customer needs & Technical conformance
  • Maintaining proficiency with pressure relief and safety valve sizing tools, calculations and processes.
  • Maintaining and passing knowledge of applicable codes and standards for pressure relief and safety valve products and applications
  • Producing technical Valve specifications based on the Customer Requirements
  • Determining best value propositions in conjunction with the regional sales team & Industrial Directors to understand the account strategy and our competitive situation
  • Working with creativity in our technical proposals, providing optimized solution/best value offerings which demonstrates our value proposition to the customer
  • Preparing deal Strategies & technology selling to best describe the value of our offering
  • Working with engineering to help secure best 'Technical Design' and 'Technical Sign-off'
  • Working with the Sourcing teams to assist with cost out exercises to help secure competitive pricing
  • Supporting the sales managers in their customer meetings & negotiations
  • Participating with regional teams in the handover to manufacturing providing technical support to the order booking process as required
  • Developing strong working relationship with regionally located commercial teams and customers

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Controls) from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma)
  • Have minimum of 5 years' experience in Valve Industry.
  • Have experience in capturing and interpreting customer requirements
  • Have flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic approach; good team player and effective communicator
  • Have thorough proactive approach to work, with a 'sense of urgency' to deliver quality 'on-time'
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to collaborate with business partners
  • Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Have demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
  • Have established project management skills
  • Have demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Be an energetic and self-motivated individual with ability to work effectively and cooperatively
  • Be a self-starter with ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Be comfortable with change and actively driving improvement
  • Have working proficiency in English language
  • Be available to travel for business as required (
