Job Description:

RSP (Reservoir Sampling and Pressure) is one of the key product lines of our Technology Center in Abbeville. We manufacture the packers used for reservoir sampling in the well. In one of the manufacturing steps called "compacting", a polyamide tape is winded to all product length installed in a rotating mandrel to ensure the quality. The tape will be removed after the curing in oven. Unwraping is a time-consuming manual process, without added value and potential HSE risks exposure. During this operation, the production equipment resource is also occupied.

Our product line is going through a rapid production ramp up in the context of industry upcycle.

The objective of this project is to automate this unwrap process by introducing a new equipment or modifying existing tooling fixture of existing production equipment. You will be part of the RSP team and report to the Product Line Manager. You can rely on technical services team and method SME (Subject Matter Expert) for technical support.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

Main responsibilities:
  • Study the current unwrap manual process and define the specification
  • Propose technical concepts for validation, either to design a new equipment ensuring the compliance to machine directive or by adding tooling/fixture based on existing machine.
  • Deliver functional block and drawing incorporating cost analysis and Design for Compliance with Machine directive.
  • Purchase parts and implementation if parts lead time allows.

  • Equipment ready to be deployed in workshop
  • Complete user manual and delivery training to operators
