Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Advisor to join its team. Due to the nature of the role it can be based at any of our geographical locations, UK or overseas.

The Commercial Advisor will be responsible for providing commercial support to the APO business with a key focus on pricing and rate build support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-contract tender support covering all commercial activities (including but not limited to coordinating tax, global mobility and contract reviews, cost rate preparation, gross margin checks and Working at Risk compliance)
  • Post-Contract administration activities, supporting project managers in the submission of variation and contract amendment requests and claims in accordance with contract requirements, including obtaining client approvals.
  • Promoting commercial awareness
  • Driving focus on cash management and DSO improvement
  • Ensure all Wood Internal Service Agreements are in place where applicable, including approvals and administration of the Agreements in accordance with policy.
  • Provision of specific commercial and contractual advice to the business as required.
  • Administration of KPI schemes in accordance with contract terms and conditions.


Skills / Qualifications

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in law, business administration, commerce, quantity surveying, or similar discipline, or an equivalent level of work experience.
  • Suitable experience involved in contract / commercial or estimating management within the renewables, oil, gas and chemical industry.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of commercial administration and procedures and exposure to key contracting concepts and principles
  • Experience in drafting and interpretation of contractual documentation
  • Estimating experience is preferred with a specific focus on pricing international assignments along with NEIC bluebook experience
