Steam Turbine and Axial Expander Cross Section and Systems Design Engineer

As a Steam Turbine and Axial Expander ("Turbine") Cross Section and Systems Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams to develop turbine design partnering with the major global energy companies in large projects
  • Manage and drive the interfaces design with auxiliaries, package and control system
  • Understand and share with project team all design aspects of the turbine, ranging from performance, operability, thermo-mechanics and control
  • Act as a technical reference for project management for all the project turbine critical matters ranging from components cost to customer interaction.
  • Perform the conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of turbines.
  • Conduct the trade-off analysis of the possible design solutions, perform mechanical and performance analysis of the chosen solution. Generate turbine cross section. Develop all the components design from preliminary to detailed definition
  • Engage and manage external engineering company in the execution of components detailed modeling and drafting activities
  • Ensure high quality and timely release of all the manufacturing required documentation (documents, drawings and bill of materials) for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistently with relevant engineering policies and procedures
  • Assist manufacturing and sourcing team in the production and assembly of the turbine components
  • Support testing in team in the validation test execution
  • Support field installation team in the site erection and commissioning activities

These are the key ingredients to be successful in this role you need:
  • Master Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Nuclear Engineering
  • Relevant experience of in turbomachinery mechanical design
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAE tools
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings GD&T and specifications as well as manufacturing processes
  • Good problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills
  • Ability in communicating complex technical information to customers and teams with varying levels of technical understanding
  • Positive attitude and good leadership skills with ability to influence and impact Engineering groups and other Functions
  • Interested in learning new technologies and understanding how these apply to different industries
  • Attitude to collaborate with multidisciplinary team contribute to the design and decision-making process.
  • Available to travel for short periods
