Baker Hughes Turbomachinery Process Solutions (TPS) Plant and Module Technology typical applications consist of Gas Compression and Liquefaction plants, single lift modules for Turbogenerator or Turbo/Moto Compressor packages, Combined Cycle and ORegenTM Power Generation plants as well as low carbon solutions.
Play a vital role in reducing carbon emissions
You will support the process design, the construction and the installation of processes to capture the CO2 in the exhaust gasses by the use of solvents (i.e., amines).
You will be involved also in other technologies, as CO2 liquefaction and transportation.
You will be involved in the development of the process engineering, for jobs and internal programs, starting from the static simulations, up to the issue of the main process documents, like the Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and the process descriptions.
As a Lead Process Engineer for Carbon Capture and Gas Treatment Technology, you will be responsible for:
Performing process static simulations for the capture of the CO2 and the regeneration of solvent used, with the use of specific software, i. e. Aspen.
Selecting the solvents to use in the specific applications.
Sizing the main equipment on the base of the process data, to ensure the operation and the plant performances.
Developing/reviewing of P&ID and process data sheet for main equipment (columns and reflux heat exchangers, scrubbers, pumps, etc.) as well as pressure drops and hydraulic calculations.
Participating and contributing to design reviews and safety reviews (Hazid, Hazop, FERA, FMEA, etc.).
Supporting procurement of main equipment and with Manufacturing and Sourcing departments.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a MSc. in Chemical Engineering.
Have proven experience in process engineering, with specific focus on carbon capture technology and column design.
Have deep knowledge of the various gas purification technologies (i.e., absorption, molecular sieves, membranes, etc.) and awareness of the main industrial available products and related suppliers.
Have knowledge about packing design and selection, for separation and absorption, from gas to liquid and vice versa. Experiences with packing suppliers and their related products (i.e., CDS, Sulzer...).
Have knowledge of International Codes like API, ANSI, ASME.
Have experience with process simulation software like Aspen, Hysys, Unisim or Petro-SIM.
