DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Logistics & Material Coordinator activity among various departments internally and externally is to support Logistics activities that improve quality and service during the offshore campaign while reducing cost. The Project Logistics & Material Coordinator has an interface with Operations, Freight Agents, Port Authorities and Offshore Vessels to ensure both Import, Exports as well as offshore transfers to their required destination for the Operations Team.

Logistics & Material Coordinator supports Offshore Operations based in Filyos Port and supports Project Logistics Manager, Operations and Marine Manager with functional responsibility detailed below;

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the customs clearance of barges and vessels in country where required, working with Marine Coordinator and Operations to ensure smooth access to Ports.
  • Generating detailed manifests to cover offshore shipments to vessels and the return with full inventory always recorded. Following vessel mobilization requests and working with site rigging team to identify equipment required offshore.
  • Arrange movement of material from Filyos suppliers or vice versa by raising INTRA (Internal Transfer) documentation to ensure traceability of material and completing transport log (Work Order process) for cost allocation to the centralized Logistics department in Istanbul.
  • Track Import from Pre-alerts to identify upcoming shipments that has the material to meet offshore schedule and communicate this to project engineers, package managers or Site Operations.
  • Work with Freight Agent to allow Port access for driver and vehicle to deliver project Cargo or local Purchases to desired site.
  • Liaise with rigging team to allocate area for storage of material onsite, this can be schedule dependant which may determine short or long-term storage requirements.
  • Full and complete yard inventory to be maintained to allow operations visibility of equipment in Filyos Yard. (Detailed yard plan would be ideal)
  • Ensuring all material arriving onsite is tagged for easy identification
  • Update material tracker with Overage/Shortage and Damage (OSD)number where OSD has been identified and check damage.
  • Focal Point for all material and equipment transfer to and from offshore using detailed manifest systems provided to track and trace material throughout the execution of project.
  • Generating export documents for the export of material from site to Commercial Port or departure on company charter vessels ensuring correct information manifested, liaising with in country team and Project Team to meet project timelines for returns.
  • Ensuring that CPI (Client Provided Imports) is received and stored as per preservation report provided by the client
  • Ensure compliance with company rules pertaining to cost commitments and cost control.
  • Ensure all logistics tasks are anticipated, prepared, monitored and performed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining and developing collaborative relationship with local logistics subcontractors.
  • Expected to contribute to creating a culture in line with company core values whilst ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in Material & Marine Logistics.
  • Excellent understanding of Freight Forwarding and transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of transit, shipping rules and marine regulations in Turkey.
  • Good understanding of Cost control procedure and reporting.
  • Strong time management and communications skills.
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

PROFILE - QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS 

  • Previous experience in Material & Marine Logistics.
  • Excellent understanding of Freight Forwarding and transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of transit, shipping rules and marine regulations in Turkey.
  • Good understanding of Cost control procedure and reporting.
  • Strong time management and communications skills.
  • Fluent in Turkish and English Languages
